It’s hard to find the words to describe how amazing it’s been to have Pearls & Lace as a creative space to share my fashion and lifestyle inspiration over the last two and a half years! Not a day goes by that I’m not eternally grateful for the amazing people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting through my little corner of the internet! I can safely say that my life wouldn’t be nearly as wonderful without your continuous words of encouragement and support with my blog and my newfound business!

Having said that, Pearls & Lace has been in need of a facelift for quite some time but instead of just jumping right into a redesign, I wanted to spend some time reflecting on the brand and experience I wanted to create when readers visit my blog. After a little reflection, I knew that my aesthetic and style have evolved over the last two and a half years and for my blog to continue to be a true representation of who I am, I needed to rebrand! Things will be a little quiet around here while I put the finishing touches on my new blog, in the meantime you can always follow along on Instagram or Pinterest if you’re in need of a little inspiration!

I’m so excited to share my new blog with you and know you’ll love it as much as I do! Thanks again for being such amazing readers as Pearls & Lace has evolved, it’s been a wonderful journey and I can’t wait for it to continue on my new blog!

I’m so happy to be back after a eternity long and unplanned blogging break! Unless you follow me on Instagram, you probably thought I simply dropped off the face of the earth…but I promise you there’s a very good reason for my absence. First off, I hope everyone had an amazing end to the summer and a wonderful fall thus far! I’ve loved seeing everyone’s fall fashion and am in slight disbelief that gift guides are already popping up in my blog feed! Having said that…I’d be lying if I said my tree hasn’t already been up for 2 weeks! I’ve missed blogging more than words can say and I’m so excited get back to blogging about the latest fashion trends!

During the past year I decided to focus more on photography, something I’ve always loved that had previously just been a hobby, and decided to take a leap of faith to launch my own photography business, Blush Sky Photography. The spring and summer were busy for me, and sadly my blog was forced to take a backseat as I focused all my time and energy on launching my business and shooting weddings alongside my good friend Kim of Kim James Photography! My focus is primarily natural light weddings and portraits with a romantic, ethereal and whimsical style. I’m thrilled to finally be able to share Blush Sky Photography with all of you, after many years of amazing compliments on the photography on my blog – you are all amazing, thank you! xx

We’ve all been there, when you’re shopping and you spot a sliver of material that just catches your eye? That’s how I came across this printed blouse and I knew from the moment I saw it, it would be perfect for my trip. Something about the print reminded me of Hawaii and the colour was an easy sell to say the least! It’s breezy and the bold pop of colour is perfect for summer or more specifically, an afternoon at the beach. I styled it with white shorts, a summer staple, and my favourite Tory Burch sandals in the same turquoise hue.

Despite what it may seem, I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth! It was nice to take a little break from blogging/emailing/working while in Hawaii and I truly wish I had the opportunity to take a little more time for myself more often. I know I speak for us all when I say we really do push ourselves too hard and take little to no time to relax when things get busy with work and life. It’s funny how it takes a vacation far away from work and daily commitments to realize just how little time we dedicate to treating ourselves and it’s something I’ve been trying and will continue to focus on this year!

Alright enough about the serious life talk, onto the good stuff: Hawaii! This was my second time returning to Maui and as expected, it was just as amazing as two years ago! Today is more than just another day for me…it holds a special place in my heart as today, my husband and I celebrate our second wedding anniversary! We’re so blessed to be able to celebrate this wonderful occasion on Maui, where we were married two years ago today! Returning to the same location where we said I do makes the memories of that day even more vivid and it’s fun to relive those moments!

To my sweet and caring husband, I couldn’t have asked for a better person to share this crazy and amazing life with! The memories we’re created over the last eight years have shaped me into the person I am today and without you I wouldn’t feel whole. You’re always so encouraging and supportive with each crazy idea I pursue and are willing to do anything to help me succeed. I am home when I am with you, you are soul mate and I love you more than words can say. Here’s to many more amazing anniversaries!
