One of the summer trends that I love are maxi skirts; they’re so feminine and flowy and instantly make you look amazing! Just because we’ve said goodbye to summer doesn’t mean we have to put away maxi skirts until spring. I love how this look can be carried into the cooler months with a few tweaks! Here are my tips for styling a maxi skirt for the fall and winter:
1 | Choose a maxi skirt in darker colors such as gray or black. If that’s too boring and you’d like to incorporate some color choose muted and neutral tones.
2 | Layer sweaters and jackets. If you’re wearing a plain maxi than add a bold printed wrap sweater or a poncho and a belt. A leather jacket is always a hit or follow one of the hottest trends this season and pair your maxi skirt with a leather sleeved jacket.
3 | Pair with ankle boots (to keep your tootsies warm) or casual shoes if you’re going for a more laid back look. Accessorize with a bold gold necklace or bracelets, a leather shopper or envelope clutch and when it’s really cold add a chunky knitted wool scarf to complete the look.
Here are three of my favorite looks, one for every occasion – dressy, casual and anything in between! Ps. The casual outfit is a total steal at $200 with all of the items being less than $80!
